why I should always remember
to clean my ears out before class

I had volunteered
to go first
They looked at me weird
when I talked
of blowing bubbles and
children’s laughter
of Autumn leave’s in shades of
yellow, brown and golden orange
of how I could for hours
write of my daydreams and nightscapes
of finding true love and
growing old together
They sat in silence as I spoke
of all the wonders this life brings
those I hold so dear
My many Muses
As I returned to my empty chair
quite content with the work I had done
on this ~ our 1st assignment of the new semester
I suddenly realized I
had made a slight mistake
The prompt on the board read
“mini-mooses” NOT “many muses”
I sunk down low behind my comp book
and quietly added to my shopping list
